Appointment of The Revd Edward James Underhill
The Acting Bishop of Ely is pleased to announce that The Revd James (Jim) Edward Robinson, currently holding Permission to Officiate in the Diocese of Ely is to be Incumbent (Vicar) of the Grantchester and St Mark’s Newnham Benefices (held in plurality).
The Revd Canon Anne Fiona Maclaurin, Vicar of St Barnabas, Cambridge is retiring on 31 August 2024
We are pleased to announce that the Revd Dr Muthuraj Swamy, currently Assistant Curate in training in the Benefice of St John the Evangelist, Cambridge is to be licensed, as Associate Priest in the Benefice (Self Supporting Minister).

The Revd John Roger Bowen, currently Assistant Retired Clergy Officer for Cambridge Area, is stepping down from this role on 30 May 2024, after almost 15 years of service. Roger is remaining in the Diocese of Ely and holds Bishop’s Permission to Officiate.

The Acting Bishop of Ely is pleased to announce that The Revd Timothy (Tim) Paul May, currently Assistant Curate in the Team Ministry of Monkwearmouth, Sunderland in the Diocese of Durham is to be Incumbent of Hemingford Abbots (Rector) and Hemingford Grey (Vicar) (held in plurality), subject to satisfactory DBS check and completion of curacy processes.
We are sorry to hear of the death on 15th March 2024 of Revd Christopher Leffler. Christopher held PTO in retirement in the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich from 1999 and in this diocese from 2020-2023 and was in those years active in the parishes of Godmanchester and Hilton.

We can confirm that the Revd Canon Malcolm Eric (Max) Osborne will be instituted and installed at Holy Trinity Bottisham on 19 April 2024 as Vicar of The Anglesey Group.
The Ven Hugh Kyle McCurdy is stepping down from his current role of Implementation Lead for Living Ely 2025 on 31 March 2024. Holding the Bishop’s Permission to Officiate, he will continue as Rural Dean of Bourn for a further year.
