Clergy Trusts and Grants

This section of the website details resources for financial support through Trusts and Grants that might be available to clergy and their families.

Church of England Website Resources

The Church of England website has a wide list of resources and sources of support for clergy and ordinands. Linked on this page are some sources of support both in and out of the Church.

Clergy Support Trust

The Clergy Support Trust provides grants and other support for Anglican clergy (serving or retired), ordinands and the dependent family members of clergy, including the separated/divorced spouses of clergy.

Henry Smith Charity

The Henry Smith Charity aims to use its resources to help people and communities at a time of need and to bring about positive change. They achieve this by funding organisations that work with people to reduce social and economic disadvantage.

Poor Vicars Charity

The principal objective of the charity is to provide financial support for 10 poor priests in the Diocese of Canterbury and 10 poor priests in the Diocese of Ely as advised and requested by the respective Diocesan Bishops.

The Queen Victoria Clergy Fund

The Queen Victoria Clergy Fund provides relief to serving Church of England clergy in financial need. It does not consider individual applications but apportions its annual charitable income among the 42 dioceses of the Church of England  using an agreed formula. Each diocese applies the Fund's grant on a confidential basis through its discretionary funds.
