We were sorry to hear of the death on 7th July 2025 of Rev’d Edwin John Penny, John. We offer John’s wife Diana and the family our sympathy, love and prayers in their bereavement.
We were sorry to learn this week of the death of the former Bishop of Ely, The Rt Revd Dr Anthony Russell. Dr Russell served Ely Diocese from 2000 to 2010, as well as making a notable contribution to the national church's thinking about rural ministry.
We are pleased to announce that the Ven Dr Justine Penelope Heathcote Allain Chapman, currently Archdeacon of Boston in the Diocese of Lincoln is to be licensed, on 3 September, as Director of Pastoral Studies and Tutor in Practical Theology in the Eastern Region Ministry Course.

We are pleased to announce that the Revd Canon Dr Jonathan Richard Kimber, who currently holds Permission to Officiate in the Worcester Diocese, has accepted the role of Interim Chaplain at Kings College, Cambridge starting from 14 April 2025. Jonathan is remaining Canon Emeritus of Peterborough Cathedral.
The Revd Jennifer Clare Hill, currently Priest in Charge of the 5fold Team Ministry, is stepping down from this role on 7 May. Jenny will continue to hold Permission to Officiate in the Diocese of Ely

The Revd Canon Annette Susan Reed, currently Vicar, in the Paxtons with Diddington and Southoe Benefice, is retiring on 29 July 2025. Her last Sunday in the Benefice will be 27 July 2025.
