Bishop Stephen is delighted that The Revd Canon Mark Haworth has accepted the invitation to become the next Rural Dean of Ely for two years.
The Revd Christopher (Chris) Murray Hill, Team Rector of the Ely Team Ministry, is retiring after 10 years of Ministry in the Diocese of Ely, on 30 April 2023, which is also his last Sunday in the Benefice.
We are sorry to hear that Fr. Geoffrey Dobson, a valued member of the parish of All Saints, St Ives, died on 24th November 2022. There will be a Requiem Mass at All Saints on Wed 14th December at 13:00.
We are pleased to announce that the Revd Mandy Carol Flaherty, currently Rector of North Leightonstone Benefice, has been appointed as Vicar of the Benefice of Harston, Hauxton and Newton. Her last working day in North Leightonstone Benefice will be Sunday 19th March 2023.
The Revd Madeleine Rachel Albert, formerly Interim Priest in Charge of St George Littleport, completed, on 31 October 2022, the two-year term in this role. She is to be granted Bishop’s Permission to Officiate in the Diocese.
We pleased to announce that the Revd Canon Neil James Blandford-Baker, Vicar of Histon and Impington, has accepted the Bishop's invitation to continue as Rural Dean for the North Stowe Deanery for further 5 years.
The Bishop of Ely is pleased to announce that the Revd Dr Richard Arthur Hines, a retired clergy who holds Bishop's Permission to Officiate, has accepted the Bishop's invitation to be Rural Dean for Wisbech Lynn Marshland in succession to the Revd Nigel Whitehouse. The Archdeacon of Huntingdon and Wisbech will commission Richard at the Deanery Synod meeting on 24 November 2022.

The Revd Dr Robert (Bob) Arnold Hughes Evans, currently chaplain at Christ College, Cambridge has been appointed as Senior Chaplain at Radley College in the Diocese of Oxford. Bob is leaving Christ College on 22 December and starting his new role in January 2023.
On behalf of the Bishop of Ely we are pleased to announce that the Revd Oliva Mary Kana Coles, currently Associate Priest in Whittlesford Benefice is to be Vicar of the Benefice (House for Duty). Olivia will be instituted by the Bishop of Ely and inducted by the Archdeacon of Cambridge on 27 November 2022.
The Revd Richard James Gibbs, Rector of Stilton with Denton and Caldecote with Felkesworth with Morborne and Haddon Benefice and Elton Benefice (held in plurality) is stepping down from this role. His last working day will be 3 February 2023 and his last Sunday in the Benefice will be 29 January.
