The Bishop of Ely announces the resignation of the Revd Dr Elizabeth (Lizzie) Ann Murgatroyd-Shipp as Priest-in-Charge of Melbourn and Meldreth (held in plurality) in the Diocese of Ely as of 31 October 2022.
Since her arrival in 2016, Lizzie has enjoyed ministering as a priest to further the work of the Gospel within the communities, the churches, and the Diocese.
It is with great regret that, upon returning from Maternity Leave, it has not been possible to find a suitable way to combine parenthood and ministry at this stage of her family’s life, and so whilst Lizzie remains a priest, she has decided to take some time out from full-time stipendiary ministry.
