Church of England Primary School receives Top Grades in latest Assessment

Abbots Ripton Church of England Primary School has achieved the top grading of 'Excellent' after its recent SIAMS assessment.

Abbots Ripton CofE Primary School, within the Diocese of Ely, was recognised at having a top grading of ‘Excellent’ in all three areas of inspection; the “Overall grade”, the “Impact of collective worship” and the “Effectiveness of Religious Education (RE)”. It was SIAMS inspected in October (2022) and the official Report has recently been issued.

The school, which has about 100 pupils and has close links with the local village church St. Andrew’s, offers a close family feel, firmly rooted in Christian foundations. It is known for having an excellent reputation for providing engaging and fun learning, combined with high standards of education.

Among the key findings, the SIAMS Inspector recognised; “The Christian vision permeates school life as the golden thread binding the work of the school together. Pupils, staff and families flourish because they receive meticulous care and support. This encompasses academic and personal growth, mental health, wellbeing and spiritual development”.

Claire Matthews, Head Teacher at Abbots Ripton CofE Primary School adds;

“I am thrilled that the inspector recognised our amazing children; their conduct, their care for one another and their ability to be, ‘confident and aspirational, building interdependent and harmonious relationships’. I would like to offer my sincere thanks to every member of school staff for their dedication and hard-work over the last few years. Even when times have been challenging, their focus on the young people in our school has been exemplary”.

Sarah Conant, Deputy Diocesan Director of Education (DDDE) at the Diocese of Ely says:

“The SIAMS grading of ‘Excellent’ is testament to the consistently outstanding work being done over many years by all of the staff at Abbots Ripton Church of England Primary School. Their commitment and dedication to the pupils and their families is providing an environment in which the pupils and adults are able to flourish”.
