There is a lot of material available to support you and your church in raising funds for your parish.
Some of the more traditional forms of giving to a church are changing, and many people are giving differently now compared to how they and others once did. Now is a good time to check that your church has in place the right mechanisms to enable people to give in support of your parish’s mission and ministry.
Please do visit our "Supporting Giving in your Parish" page (click here), where amongst other resources, we have suggested five steps you can take to get your giving fully up and running.
Step 1
- Begin by reviewing why giving is so important and how to encourage giving and generosity in your local context.
Step 2
- Ensure you have in place the best possible mechanism to encourage regular planned giving. We strongly recommend the Parish Giving Scheme, which is used by a growing number of parishes across the Diocese.
Step 3
- Take steps (if you have not done so already) to put in place an online giving platform for your parish.
Step 4
- Explore options for contactless giving and card readers.
Step 5
- Finally, check out what other forms of giving might benefit your parish, including legacy gifts.
