Jesus was born in a stable to a teenage mother, became a refugee and would have been "sofa surfing" throughout his ministry.
Today we would categorise Jesus in his season of public ministry as one of the "hidden homeless". He and his disciples were dependent on the kindness of others to provide for their most basic needs. Our How your church can help webpage has a few practical suggestions for responding to the issue of homelessness as a church. You can also find out more about the Cambridge Churches Homeless Project here.

Homelessness Sunday
Homeless Sunday is an ecumenical special day, usually set on a date in October, to raise awareness of homelessness in our communities, pray for our homeless brothers and sisters, as well as the work of charities and services that seek to help and support people who are homeless. Housing Justice have resources that can be used around Homelessness Sunday, or at any time during the year.
You can also use this video at any time of year, not just on Homelessness Sunday, to raise awareness in your church. Here you can download a copy of the video to use offine. Or, if you can’t show the video in your church, perhaps you could send a link to the video round in your church newsletter?
