Interfaith Holocaust Memorial Day Service

Canon Jutta Brueck (Vicar, Great St Mary’s) and the Rev’d Devin McLachlan (Bishop’s Advisor for Interfaith; vicar of St Bene’t’s) attended an interfaith Holocaust Memorial Day service at the guildhall in Cambridge this week. Devin spoke in his role as Bishop’s Advisor for Interfaith, before the mayor and members of the city council, about the church’s work in recognising HMD and remembering the victims of modern genocides. Speakers also included Eva Clarke, BEM, a holocaust survivor and Cambridge resident born in Mauthausen concentration camp in 1945, and Imam Sejad Mekić, of Cambridge Central Mosque, who survived the Bosnian genocide.
