Historic England, the Government agency with responsibility for championing the heritage sector, is carrying out a survey to assess the impact of the Coronavirus epidemic on organisations that are responsible for England’s heritage.
They want to find out how those with direct responsibility for historic church buildings are faring in the current situation and what the outlook is for the nation’s heritage over the next six months.
The survey form is quite short. It is an opportunity for churches to tell the government what they need now, and what they think they will need during the rest of this year.
Churches account for a very high proportion of the most historic buildings in this country, and we would encourage all the churches in the Diocese of Ely to make their voices heard to Historic England.
