The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) took effect in the UK from 25 May 2018 and churches must comply with its requirements, just like any other charity or organisation.
In addition to the guidance available on the Parish Resources website, Parish Buying members have access to discounted online training with Me Learning.
Depending on your role, there are a number courses to choose from, covering:
GDPR Refresher Training
- This course gives you a refresher on the three main topics of GDPR - responsibilities, data protection and individual rights.
Core (level 1)
- This basic level is appropriate for many people. It involves completing three modules that will take around 30 minutes each to complete.
Marketer (level 2)
- Ideal for anyone tasked with executing policies and demonstrating data protection best practice.
Foundation (level 3)
- This level is for senior staff such as Heads of Departments and/or those who carry out Subject Access requests.
Practitioner (level 4)
- A comprehensive package for the GDPR lead responsible for compliance in your organisation.
GDPR Board Training
- An introduction for business leaders who need to know the strategic principles of GDPR.
