The Barnwell Sports Programme set out to explore how sport could become a space where young people encounter God and grow in faith.
The project aimed to combine sport, community, and discipleship “to see young people transformed by the power of sport and the gospel”. Funded through the Church Commissioners’ Innovation Fund, the work was based at Christ the Redeemer Church following a church graft from St Barnabas and was led by the Revd Danny Driver and a small team of staff.

The Revd Canon Peter Leech, Director of Mission and Ministry, recently visited Christ the Redeemer, to talk to Danny; to hear more about the impact of the project, how other churches could get involved in Sports Ministry, and their plans for the future as a church now the project funding has officially ended.
