The Acting Bishop of Ely is pleased to announce that The Revd Stephen Richard Dove, currently Assistant Curate in The Northstowe Church Network Mission Initiative in the Diocese of Ely is to be Incumbent (Team Rector) of the 5folds Team Ministry.
The Revd Edward (Ed) Benjamin Cearns, currently Assistant Curate in training (SSOM) in the St Clement’s Benefice is moving, on 17 February, to the St Benedict Benefice, Cambridge to continue his curacy until 31 October 2026.
We were sorry to hear of the death on 5th December 2024 of The Rev'd Dr Andrew Macintosh and remember his wife Mary their family in our prayers.

We are pleased to announce that the Revd Elizabeth (Liz) Joan Gabrielle Strickland, currently Associate Priest in the Benefice of Hartford and Houghton with Wyton is to be licensed, on 6 February, as Associate Priest in the Benefice of Bluntisham cum Earith with Colne and Holywell cum Needingworth, locally known as Merdian Benefice (Self Supporting Minister).
Further to the announcement of 8 December informing about departure of The Reverend Susan (Sue) Fiona Simpson currently Rector to Somersham with Pidley and Oldhurst and Woodhurst Benefice to be Vicar for the United Parish of Aldborough & Boroughbridge with Roecliffe, Minskip and Dunsforth in the Diocese of Leeds.
The Reverend Steven Rothwell currently Incumbent (Vicar) of St James, Cambridge and Curate Training Officer (IME2) has been appointed as Clergy Development Officer in the Diocese of Ely. Steve will continue his IME2 role in the Diocese. His last Sunday in the parish will be Easter Day, 20th April and he will begin his new role on Monay 28 April
Further to the departure announcement made on 2 November 2024 for The Reverend Lloyd Martin Davis currently Associate Vicar (Pioneer), Whittlesey, Ponderbridge and Coates and Assistant Director of Ordinands in the Diocese of Ely and his appointment as Team Vicar in Beaconsfield (Holtspur St Thomas & The Dove Cafe) in the Diocese of Oxford. We can confirm that Lloyd's institution date is 23 April 2025. His last Sunday in his current Benefice will be 30 March 2025.
Further to the announcement made on 15 December 2024 we can now confirm that The Revd Andrew James Avery’s last Sunday in the Stanground and Farcet and Fletton will be 26 January 2025. He will be licensed as Priest in Charge in the Somerleyton Benefice, in the Diocese of Norwich on 4 February 2025.
The Reverend Emily Louise Davis, currently Rector of Whittlesey, Ponderbridge and Coates, has resigned from this post as of 4 April 2025. Emily’s last Sunday in the Benefice will be 30 March. Emily is moving to the Diocese of Oxford following her husband’s appointment as Team Vicar in Beaconsfield (Holtspur St Thomas & The Dove Café).
