The Revd Canon Michael (Mike) Paul Montague Booker is stepping down from his role as Bishop’s Change Officer for Market Towns. His last working day will be 31 August 2021.
Mike has brought to the role of leader of our Market Town project, all the attributes we associate with a wise, gentle, and experienced pastor. He has been able to shape the project by his theologically informed thinking, his passion for mission and evangelism, and his commitment to the local church. We are grateful for Mike’s prayerful positive encouragement, his ability to listen, to come alongside and for bringing his years of parish experience.
Bishop Stephen says: ‘I am enormously appreciative of the leadership which Mike has provided in this role. In spite of pandemic, we have seen real change and development in confidence, activity and staffing in the relevant Market Towns. Mike should be proud of the progress he has made with his colleagues. I thank God for him and for the work achieved’.
