RIP
The Rev’d Canon Brian Watchorn
We were sorry to hear of the death on 27th August 2024 of The Rev’d Canon Brian Watchorn and remember his niece and wider family in our prayers.
From the Crockford’s entry for Brian:
Born in 1939 he gained a BA from Emmanuel College Cambridge in 1961and MA 1965. Also a BA from
Deaconed 1963
Priested 1964
He served as a curate at Bolton St Peters in Manchester Diocese 1963-1966 and went on to be college chaplain to Gonville and Caius Cambridge from1966-74.
He became vicar of Chesterton from 1975-82 and then Fell Dean and chaplain to Pembroke College Cambridge 1982-2006. He was made a Hon Canon of Ely Cathedral in 1994 and served as Chapter Canon from 2000-10.
