The Revd Dr Hannah Cleugh, currently Senior Chaplain to the Bishop of Ely and a Minor Canon of Ely Cathedral, has been appointed as Vicar of Monkseaton St Peter in the Diocese of Newcastle. The licensing date is expected to be during the first week of November.
Bishop Stephen said: "Hannah is a superb colleague and will be a hard act to follow. She is a wise counsellor and a fine prayer partner for me. She has brought a huge amount to the Senior Team and to colleagues in the Bishop’s office. From this office she has built good relationships with clergy and parishes around the diocese. She has developed a special link with the safeguarding team on my behalf. On top of all this, she has been an active governor of Teversham CEVA Primary School and has had an interim pastoral role as the priest for the Hinkledux parishes. Although she will be a big loss, the opportunity to serve a large parish in her beloved North East is just too important to miss. She and David will move in mid-October. We shall send them north with many thanksgivings and much love".
We wish Hannah and David every blessing as they prepare for the move, and for the future.
