Born in 1926 he gained a BA from Pembroke College Cambridge in 1947 He trained for ordination at Ridley Hall and was ordained in Rochester Cathedral.

He served as a curate at Northumberland Heath in
Later he moved to the Church Pastoral Aid Society, moving up to be secretary in 1965.
In 1973 he became Archdeacon of Norwich and served as Suffragan Bishop of Thetford from 1981-91 and retired in 1992.
He was awarded an OBE in 2003 and was given an Hon DD from
Many will remember him for his still popular hymns “Tell out my soul” and “Lord for the years” among others.
Timothy’s funeral is to be a private family service and there will be a memorial service at St Andrew the Great in
