How to make your survey a success.

Questionnaires/Surveys
Questionnaires tend to be the most popular way to survey a local community, but they need careful consideration as they can be time consuming and response rates low. Remember to frame the questions in a positive, appreciative way, otherwise the whole exercise will quickly become deficit/problem centred.
Try to ask questions that inspire a dialogue and use inclusive language.
Do consider other options which might be more engaging and less time consuming, for instance, a Facebook campaign. You could start by asking people to share their memories of the church, which then leads to a ‘call for action’ or answers to a key question e.g. a new fundraising campaign, volunteer recruitment or suggestions on future uses of the building/ways to connect with the wider community.
