St Bede's Inter-Church School is a place where pupils flourish
St Bede's Inter-Church School has been rated 'outstanding' in all areas by Ofsted following their recent inspection (June 2024, report published on 2 July 2024).
The school is the only Christian state secondary school in Cambridgeshire.
Pupils at St Bede's Inter-Church School benefit from deeply embedded Christian values that underpin the school’s culture. They place high regard on how this enriches their lives and learning. Pupils live these values in their daily interactions around school.
It described the curriculum as 'highly ambitious' and said that at times it goes beyond the requirements of the national curriculum. It added: "The school has ensured that teachers have been trained in the best methods to deliver their subjects to meet pupils' needs."
Inspectors said behaviour at the school was 'exemplary' and "there is warmth and encouragement in every classroom". They added: "In the rare cases when pupils struggle to meet the school’s high expectations, they are helped to improve."
Alistair Day, headteacher at St Bede's Inter-Church School said: "We are delighted that Ofsted have recognised the high standards at our school, not only in academic performance but also in the care and support shown for all members of our community, inspired by our Christian ethos."
Following on soon after their fantastic Ofsted report, St Bede's also received an outstanding SIAMS inspection report. The report stated that St Bede’s exudes confidence, compassion and commitment, which was the impact of its longstanding, inclusive Christian vision.
