The list below contains links to potential funding to help your school on their journey towards net zero carbon. All links will take you to external websites. Please note some of these grant opportunities may not be available all the time or be available to all. We are not responsible if the content changes or links are broken.

Open grant funding opportunities (information taken from the Sustainability Support for Education newsletter):
- Green Community Grants (£500 - £2,000) - Bupa Foundation and Groundwork UK
Apply for funding to make local places and spaces greener. Apply before Tuesday 30 Jun 2026.
- Royal Society Partnership Grants (up to £3,000)
Funding schools and colleges up to £3,000 to work in partnership with STEM professionals to run an investigative STEM project. Apply before Friday 10 July 2026.
- Royal Society Tomorrow's Climate Scientists (up to £3,000)
An extension to the Partnership Grants scheme, this funds schools specifically researching climate change and biodiversity topics. Apply before Friday 10 July 2026.
- Greater Manchester Eco Grants for School (up to £2,000)
If you’re in Greater Manchester, the Eco Grants for Schools programme offers grants of up to £2,000 to help support practical, pupil-led projects that take action on climate change. Apply before Friday 31 July 2026.
- Ford of Britain Trust Grants (up to £3,000)
Funding projects that focus on education, environment, children and youth activities, people with disabilities and local community benefit. The Ford Britain Trust | Ford UK
- Alpkit Foundation, small grants (£50 - £500)
They’ve recently opened small grants to support outdoor projects. Apply for an Alpkit Foundation Grant
- National Lottery Awards for All - Environment (£300–£20,000)
