Mothers' Union

The Mothers’ Union is an international Christian membership charity that aims to demonstrate the Christian faith in action through the transformation of communities worldwide

It has been promoting and supporting stable family life since 1876. We have over four million members in 84 countries worldwide and aim to support family life in communities both locally and globally.

Family: Faith: Fun

Our Family: Faith: Fun Activity Sheet is produced each month by Ros, and can be shared with families in your church or parish if you are able to do so.

Susan Baker Memorial Fund

Ely Diocesan Mothers’ Union, through the Susan Baker Memorial Fund, support capital costs for work with families of all generations in the Ely Diocese.

Prayer and Fellowship

Prayer and fellowship are integral to the way Mothers' Union lives out its calling and vision. Members pray regularly for the health and wellbeing of families worldwide. Find more Prayer Resources.

We support the United Nations’ 16 Days of Activism campaign which runs from 25 November to 10 December.

Throughout this campaign, we join with over 6,000 organisations from over 185 countries to raise awareness of and call for an end to gender-based violence and abuse in all forms and in all societies.

Gender-based violence is one of the most widespread violations of human rights. It can affect anyone at any time, and it takes many forms. It can be a part of a damaging cultural norm or hidden behind closed doors. We believe that we must bring this into the light.

The letters of RISE UP stand for Respond, Inform, Support, Empower, Unite and Pray.

Domestic abuse can happen to anyone from any walk of life. It’s our goal that Mothers’ Union members and churches will work together to be a part of the change and will get involved with our RISE UP challenge.

JOIN US and JOIN IN! - MU is changing lives

We need to be courageous and reach out to others inviting them to Join us and Join in. We are changing lives! We need to share our work and service with others, and to let them know how relevant we are in this place, 'for such a time as this.' (Esther 4:14).

Social Justice

By speaking out against social injustice and campaigning for the recognition of the value of stable family life, Mothers' Union aims to work towards its vision of a world where God's love is shown through loving, respectful and flourishing relationships.

A significant part of our work locally is campaigning on social justice issues relevant to families wherever they are. In the Diocese of Ely, our members actively support national campaigns like the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence.
