Community energy: understanding it, getting involved and how your community can make a difference.
A Staying Connected event - part of a series of events aimed at community leaders and members across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough
As 2026 gets underway, Cambridgeshire Acre are relaunching their Staying Connected series of events. These events aim to keep you abreast of topics of that may be of interest to anyone living or working in the county's rural communities. You will hear from topic experts, with plenty of time for questions and discussion.
The first of these sessions is taking place on Tuesday 3 February 2026, between 5pm and 6pm.
We're inviting you to join us for a short introductory session on community energy. Taking no more than an hour of your time, you will learn what community energy is, what it could do for your community and how you can get involved. The session will be delivered by experts from Cambridgeshire County Council's Community Energy team.
By attending you will:
- Learn more about this nationwide movement which is putting people at the heart of delivering the clean power transition.
- Hear how Cambridgeshire County Council can help communities start their own energy projects.
- Understand whether your community has sites that might present opportunities for community energy
