Eco Church - an A Rocha UK project

Eco Church

Eco Church is a programme run by A Rocha UK to equip churches to care for creation. Eco Church provides a framework to support your church and its leadership to take practical action on caring for God’s earth, through the Eco Church survey.

The Eco Church survey is a free online tool encompassing all areas of church life through the following five categories:

  • Worship and teaching
  • Buildings and energy
  • Land and nature
  • Community and global engagement
  • Lifestyle

The survey helps you assess your church’s progress and guide you to take further action as you work towards a Bronze, Silver or Gold Eco Church award.

Get started

To get started, simply register your church on the online platform and start a survey! Once you’ve started a survey, you can log in any time, and update your survey to see your progress. Getting started with Eco Church offers some helpful tips to consider as you begin your Eco Church journey.

You can view the survey questions and read an overview of each of the five categories on the Eco church website.

There are loads of Eco Church resources to help you as you seek to embed care for creation within your worshipping community.

Eco Church Support Meetings

Our regional Eco Church support sessions are an opportunity to share success, obstacles and challenges you may be experiencing, seek support and support others.

Whether you’re seeking advice, wanting to listen in to the chat, or have lots of experience you’re happy to share, please join us for these informal sessions, for people to chat about what you are doing to work towards Eco Church Awards.

Sign up for the Ministry Mailing and keep an eye on our social media channels to receive details of upcoming meetings.

Eco Diocese

Eco Diocese is part of the Eco Church programme run by A Rocha UK, providing a framework to guide our practical action on caring for God’s earth.

Eco Diocese encompasses many aspects of the work within the diocese as part of fulfilling the Church of England Environment Programme and Net Zero Carbon targets.

As part of the Eco Diocese award, we are seeking to grow the number of Eco Church registrations and awards of churches within the Diocese.
