The CMN Children’s Ministry Essentials Course is a new and exciting resource for children’s ministry. It is aimed at anyone who is volunteering with children in the church or community, and particularly those who wish to grow in confidence, knowledge and ability. It will be facilitated locally by the Growing Younger team and will include both online and in-person sessions. The course is made up of ten sessions with films and lots of great content, including topics such as: the world of the child, leadership and teamwork, the role of play in faith formation, and inclusion. There are a limited number of free places funded by the Church of England 30k project.

It is based upon the three key principles of:

  • Knowing the child
  • Growing and developing children’s ministry
  • Leader development

The course is delivered by the Children’s Ministry Network (CMN), who have collaborated as part of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI), to develop excellent content that will prove valuable to anyone working in ministry with children.

This course will begin in November 2025. It is a modular course and can be started at various points during the year. You can take up to two years to complete the course. Sign up now!
