'Breathe and Connect' was the theme for the Spring 2024 Head Teacher and Deputy Head Conference, organised by the Diocesan Education team, that took place at St Mary's Church, Ely today.
A time of worship was led by the Rev'd Jeanine Bossy, Pioneer Curate at St Andrew's Cherry Hinton, and Lucy Bunce, Harpist and Director of Music at St Andrew's, allowing a time of peace and tranquility to find refreshment for the soul and spirit.
Development Officer for Schools Mission, the Rev'd Mandy Flaherty, spoke about the Authorised Chaplaincy Assistant course, and Mike Kelly, our Development Officer for Young People and Families and Mental Health First Aid England trainer, led a refresher session to support positive wellbeing for leaders and their teams.
Archdeacon Alex Hughes, Chair of the Diocesan Board of Education, also took the opportunity to thank Sarah Conant for her some 10 years of service within the Diocesan Education team, most recently as Interim Director of Education, ahead of her retirement.
