  • Using the Zipper buses, the bus stop closest to Etheldreda House is called “Lancaster Way”.  This bus stop is located alongside the Cambridge Commodities building, do ring the ‘stop’ bell on the bus.  It is then an approximate 5-minute walk to the Diocesan offices from this bus stop.
  • Further Zipper service information is here https://dews-coaches.com/local-bus-service.php
  • The closest bus stop to the train station is accessed by walking from the station through the Tesco car park in front of the entrance to the superstore and across to the other side (opposite the Tesco petrol station), where the bus stops are clearly marked.

Arriving on foot (via Ely)

  • Please note it is not a “pedestrian friendly” walk to Etheldreda House from Ely City or the Ely train station. This section serves to help those that wish to attempt the walk, but who might not be familiar with the best option to take.
  • Assuming a starting point of Ely train station, Google maps will first try to direct pedestrians “via Angel Drove”, which will ultimately include a cross-country section and along an unpathed verge of a busy main road. Visitors are very strongly advised to ignore this suggestion.
  • Instead, Visitors who choose to walk from the Station should make their way up Back Hill and via Barton Road, Cambridge Road and Witchford Road leading towards the A10 / BP Petrol station roundabout.
  • Crossing the A10 / BP Petrol station roundabout section is not controlled by traffic lights or a pedestrian crossing and is not a pleasant experience. During rush hour especially, but at all times, pedestrians crossing this section are advised to use extreme caution.
  • The road from the A10/BP Petrol Station roundabout to the Business Park is fully paved for pedestrians.
