Join in with Living History
Vikings, in their longboat, the Bear, (featured in the film 'How to train your dragon') will row up the Cam at Horningsea between 10am and 12pm each day, with Living History displays each day between 10am and 4pm.
Axe throwing, horn carving, eel catching, cooking Viking food, playing Viking board games, weaving, calligraphy … expect some skirmishes, and during the afternoon the Vikings will “rampage around the church” as they did in the year 870!

The Saxon Minster and Viking Raid of 870
A Discussion in the style of Radio 4’s “In Our Time”, moderated by Reverend Canon Nick Moir, with visiting speakers: Rosalind Love, Elrington & Bosworth Professor of Anglo Saxon; Rory Naismith, Professor of Early Medieval English History and Lesley Abrams, Emeritus Professor of Early Medieval History, University of Oxford.
