Congregations are invited to celebrate Disability Awareness Sunday 2026
Churches across the UK are invited to mark Disability Awareness Sunday 2026. The official date is 27 September 2026, but churches can celebrate on a Sunday that works for them. Watch out for Disability Awareness Week events (20-27 Sept) including 20 Sept’s online service!
Disability Awareness Sunday is a day to ensure disabled people are fully included in church. Celebrate on Sunday 20th or 27th September 2026, or any Sunday! Get free resources aimed at Anglican parishes at this open-access Disability Awareness Sunday Linktree.
The 2026 theme, ‘One Body, Many Parts’, draws on 1 Corinthians 12 and celebrates the truth that the Church is not complete without disabled people. Hold your own DAS church service or take part online.
Here are 3 ways to join in:
1. Download the 2026 DAS resource 'One Body, Many Parts' (1 Cor. 12) with Triona Brading’s story as an autistic Christian
2. Download the original DAS resource 'A Life Transformed’ on the Luke 5 account of the paralysed man going ‘Through the roof’ (from which the charity gets its name)
3. Join the CofE Online DAS service on Sunday 20 Sept 2026

The 1 Corinthians 12 resource is written by Triona Brading, a young autistic Christian author, Anglican ministry trainee and Roofbreaker disability champion with Through the Roof. She brings insight, joy and fresh perspectives to our understanding the Body of Christ. And if this is your first DAS celebration, our original DAS resource is still available at the link, on Luke 5: about friends breaking ‘through the roof’ for their paralysed friend to meet Jesus.
The free Disability Awareness Sunday resources include:
- Videos for use in worship, plus other short videos for youth or small groups
- Ready-to-use service ideas, with Bible notes, song ideas and prayers
- Practical ideas for all-age worship and youth activities.
In addition, you can also order ‘One Body, Many Parts’ handouts for everyone attending a UK DAS event, and download templates to use for your local DAS event publicity.
